Well, I'm happy to say that The Vampire Diaries is up to its usual high-intensity drama standards by kicking off the series with a definite bang.
Elena may be gone, but in her place are five incredibly cruel and vicious witch-vampires wreaking havoc in any and every way possible. They may even be more malicious than Klaus himself, and that's saying something.

Damon was as amusing as ever - ripping out peoples hearts and glaring at anyone who pissed him off, whilst Lily upped her game in handing out her cruel punishments. It was also nice to see Caroline and Stefan's relationship bloom a little amongst all the mourning and drama, as well as Matt achieve his Deputy role.

The bunch may be grieving - Alaric obviously most of all - but that sure as hell didn't stop them from getting on with the action. With a newly evacuated Mystic Falls, Bonnie and Damon definitely seem like they're going to be stirring up trouble among the ranks who have agreed on a truce they don't want to be a part of and the jump 3 years ahead is very intriguing to say the least!
But, the question is, will Alaric bring back Jo?
And who is this mysterious figure branding and chasing the two brothers 3 years on?
I can't wait to see how this series continues to unfold!!
